A few things you need to know about your stay
See below for tips about staying at the Chalet

Finding the Chalet
Leave the A55 at junction 16a heading towards Dwygyfylchi.
At Saint Gwynan’s Church turn left onto Old Mill Road for about a mile; go past the golf course on the right and all of the residential houses, a stream on the left, and over the small bridge. Then when you see the large white house, Llys Gwynt, on a sharp right bend, bare left to go up the off road lane to the Chalet parking area.

Designated parking area
There is an unofficial designated parking space for visitors to the Chalet in the open area on the grass opposite the cottage Pant Glas and in front of the new house.
The Chalet is up the hill behind the small white cottage.
Check-in and out times are 12 midday unless otherwise agreed.

The Garden Gate
Remember to keep the gate closed as we do have frequent visitors. Thank you.

Front door and porch
The Chalet has all new double glazed doors and windows. Please note the front door opens outwards giving more space in the porch area.
In the porch you will find: walking sticks, umbrellas, bird food, doggy towels & bowls, and kindling wood stock.

Patio door lock
There is an additional lock on the patio doors in the lounge. This is to prevent the doors being opened from the outside even if it is unlocked.
To use the doors, simply squeeze the two buttons on the “Patlock” and pull apart. Do the opposite to replace the lock.
Keys to the summerhouse and shed can be found in a box on the top of the bookshelf along with the washing line for hand-washed articles. The line extends from the patio doors to the black post at the end of the garden.

Lounge
Also in the bookshelf are a selection of reading books and information on local places of interest.
There is a photo album giving instructions and useful tips on various appliances and items in the Chalet.
The Wi-Fi QR code and password can be found on the router next to the TV. The landline phone is for emergency use only.
Dining table & four chairs, table cloth, place mats and lap trays are available.
Board and card games can be found in the cupboard and drawers.
Please write in the visitors book if you wish to make a comment regarding your stay at the Chalet.

Wood burner
This is the most efficient way to heat the Chalet on cooler evenings.
Firelighters, kindling wood to start and wood to maintain the fire are in the lounge. More wood can be found in the porch and outside in the wood bunker under the kitchen window and in the sheds. Please clean the wood burner out and replenish the lounge wood store on departure if its been used. The cold ash can be wrapped in newspaper and disposed of in the black bin. Thank you.
The coal is for display only, please do not use.
There is a fire extinguisher to the right of the fireplace.

Bedrooms
The bedrooms both have pillows and quilts available but please bring with you your own linen: bed sheets (standard size double and/or singles) pillowcases, quilt covers and towels.

Kitchen
To use the oven, set the knob at '9 o'clock' for the fan assisted oven and '3 o'clock' for the grill and then set the temperature knob. Do not place trays on the base of the oven as this gets extremely hot.
To use the hob, press the 'on' button for a few seconds, then select the hob ring button you wish to use and set +/- to the required temperature.
Also available are: toaster (use the lefthand slots first), kettle, Alexa and all utensils and cleaning products for self-catering.
The wall heater is very powerful and only needs to be on for a few minutes to warm a chilly kitchen, the remote control is on the wall by the sink.
All kitchen appliance instruction manuals can be found in the kitchen.

Kitchen continued...
To turn the fridge/freezer and oven on/off the power switches are on the wall to the right of the oven. These only need to be turned off if the Chalet is vacant for a few days before the next guests arrive; we will let you know if you need to turn them off.
The main electrical fuse box can be found in the cupboard under the microwave along with a First Aid box, black refuse bags, kitchen roll, and toilet tissue stock. Feel free to use any store cupboard essentials but please replace if necessary for others use.
Please ensure to remove perishable food stuffs from the fridge/freezer/cupboards and any rubbish on departure. Thank you.

Airing cupboard
Is located opposite the back door inside the bathroom.
It contains: the power switch for the shower & bathroom extractor fan, the instant hot water pump and controller, cordless vacuum cleaner & attachments, clothes airer, cleaning utensils and buckets.

Bathroom
The power switch for the shower is in the airing cupboard. Please ensure the shower is wiped down after use and leave the doors open to help reduce condensation. The extractor fan should come on and off automatically with the humidity levels.
The wall heater ‘on’ switch can be found above and to the left of the back door. Please ensure it is turned off after use as it is very costly to run. Thank you.
Cleaning products and toilet tissues are under the sink.
The mains water stopcock is behind the shelf to the right of the bathroom sink/cabinet if required.

On departure
Please leave the Chalet as clean and tidy as you would like to find it as we are not always available to do this in between visits. There is a cordless vacuum cleaner in the airing cupboard and cleaning products in the kitchen and bathroom.
Please switch off all electrical sockets at the wall except for in the lounge to the left of the fireplace (as the internet needs to remain on), the electric smart meter in the kitchen and both the extractor fans in the kitchen and bathroom.
We will let you know if the fridge/freezer needs to be turned off.
If you encounter any problems during your stay please let us know as soon as possible.

Black bins & recycling
The general waste black wheelie bin collection is only once every four weeks. You are welcome to use it and we may ask visitors to kindly take the bin down to the communal collection point if we are unable to do so. We will let you know.
Please dispose of your recycling. There are numerous local roadside recycling bins in Penmaenmawr and Conwy.
